The launch of the “Real Estate is Good” Campaign
The real estate consultant Ilias Papageorgiadis, together with his team, launched today, 9th of May 2011, 11:00 am, the campaign for social and professional responsibility “Real Estate is good”.
The project’s goal is to unite the whole of the Romanian real estate sector and to offer this industry a set of common values and standards. The campaign will last 8 weeks (Monday 9th of May – Friday, 8th of July 2011). The participants will be able to access www.imobiliarelesuntbune.ro (for Romanian) or www.realestateisgood.ro (for English), to go through the declaration proposed by Ilias Papageorgiadis, to vote YES for the set of values expressed in the before mentioned letter, to post proposals or solutions, discussion topics or comments.
At the press conference, Ilias Papageorgiadis was joined by some of the most important leaders in the sector: Ruxandra Cleciu – ARAI President and Managing Partner Neocasa, Dr. Radu Zilișteanu -analyst and real estate expert, Sorin Varvara – APAIR President elected, University professor Dr. Ion Anghel and Dragoș Dragoteanu – General Manager of Euroest. They all have signed the declaration that is the basis of this campaign and have sent their messages of support. 
Ruxandra Cleciu: We start as a team of people, but I am sure that until the end of this campaign we will multiply many times.
Radu Zilișteanu: Except the fact that Real Estate is good, it is also very important for Romanian economy.
Ion Anghel: Real Estate is not just buying and selling apartments… What is the scope of this campaign? A better quality of life.
Sorin Varvara: We support this campaign, as we agree with its principles and its initiatives.
Dragoș Dragoteanu: Even the ones who left Real Estate industry, will return soon. This is a dynamic market and we have “a war” every single day.
Ilias Papageorgiadis stated during the press conference: “I am the first one who will tell you that Romanian market has many people who are not professionals at all. But this does not mean that everyone here has a low level of qualifications or bad intentions. There are many serious professionals out there, many more that you can even imagine. At the same time, when some people talk about Real Estate, they forget the fact that tens of professions are involved and it is not just about Real Estate brokers or consultants. From lawyers to bankers, from architects to builders, a whole world of people creates what we call the “Real Estate industry”.
I know about campaigns and I don’t want to be president of any association. I have a good relationship with a lot of people, a result of my professional activity during all these years. Plus I really believe that Real Estate is important, vital for Romania and its future.
This is why I decided to start this campaign today, the day we celebrate Europe’s day. It will last for 8 weeks and it will include many (smaller or bigger) surprises. During these 8 weeks you will be invited to discuss the importance and the positive effects of Real Estate in Romania, as this campaign continues to unfold. In case you want to personally support this initiative, you will also be free to state your opinion and suggest your proposals.”

This is a campaign for responsibility, of stating the existence of competence within the real estate sector and it intents to reunite, to bring together all of us that want the real estate segment to be transparent, honest, correct, with ethical values and a clear functional system. A segment of validation, collaboration, respecting the criteria of the market, professional discretion but without patience for opportunism, illegal transactions and other attempts at corruption, with a Balkan flavor.”
